Yesterday (Sunday) I launched 25 auctions made up mostly of items I’d picked up at some of the local thrift shops the previous week along with a few re-lists of items that hadn’t previously sold.
The re-listed items are the 1985 Montgomery Ward catalogs, the Lenscraft cigarette lighter, the two World War I books, and the Wilton cake decorating book.
The Peruvian sterling silver set is has also been re-listed. On Saturday I realized I said there were a total of 20 pieces in the auction description when in fact there are only 16. I canceled the bids it already had, ended the auction early, corrected the description and listed it again last night.
The other nineteen items are things that I picked up locally at thrift shops last week. Most of the shops were having year-end sales with much of their merchandise reduced by 50% to 75% or more.
The four CD sets had previously priced at $4 each, but I bought them for 50 cents each. I’d originally planned to keep the Celtic music set but after playing all four CDs once I decided it wasn’t worth keeping. The other three are Classical music and I’ve alway done well with these two to four CD sets and pick them up whenever I can for $3 or less a set.
All the postcards were picked out of a box of several hundred postcards marked 50 cents a piece. I bought 24 and paid $12 for them.
The four Biblio magazines came from a thrift shop that prices all their magazines at 10 cents each, so my investment is 40 cents.
The Yogi Berra baseball card and the Portrait Busts Of North Dakota Tribes pamphlet were bought individually. I paid $10 for Yogi and $1 for the pamphlet.
All the books other than the Three Musketeers set I paid 50 cents each for, for a total of $2.50.
The Three Musketeers set was put on the shelf as I was looking at books and I was able to grab it right away. Each book was marked $15 and I paid $30 for the two of them.
The total investment in the twenty-five auctions, including the re-lists, is $80.90.
If you look at the auctions you will probably see that, as of right now, there are no pictures visible. Sometime late last night MarketWorks somehow disabled all my photos and haven’t been able to find the problem as of yet. Just great considering with the 10 cent listing day I currently have roughly 250 auctions ending within the next 15 hours and no one can see what the items look like.
Just one of the ongoing joys of eBay I guess.
