Last night the auctions for the items I bought at the new Goodwill Thrift store last week ended.
Seventeen of the twenty-two items sold for a sell-through rate of 77%. The final bids for the seventeen items was $476.82. My cost for everything from Goodwill was $61.30. However, since I had to end the Peruvian silver auction earl, the cost of the twenty-two items mentioned here was $41.30. After listing fees, final value fees, and PayPal fees I should still realize a 700% or more profit from my investment.
This morning at about 11 o’clock the 228 free listing items ended with 91 of them selling for $489.71. The sell-through rate for these was about 40%. Not that high, but since these were all items that had already been listed on eBay at least twice previously, I’m happy with what they brought. Everything that didn’t sell will go into a garage sale this spring and what doesn’t sell there gets donated to the Salvation Army. They go there because their prices are so high I hardly ever shop there so I don’t have to pick through my old junk.
In the end, if I made any money on the 91 items that sold it was minimal. Overall, I may have broke even, but realistically I probably lost a little on the items that sold.
The entire day has been devoted to paperwork from the auctions and wrapping packages. As I write this, of the 108 items that sold in the last 24 hours, 59 of the items have been paid for with PayPal and they are all packed and ready for the mail tomorrow.
The auctions that began on Sunday evening still don’t have any photos showing. I had a rather heated phone conversation with MarketWorks this morning and it seems they had a glitch over the weekend and deleted all the pictures from the server for a fairly large number of customers. They claim they can retrieve them but they aren’t sure how long it will take.
Tomorrow, if they aren’t showing yet, I’ll probably end up taking all new pictures, uploading them, and hooking them up to the auctions. It’s either that or end all the auctions and start them over again when the pictures finally do reappear. Fun, fun, fun.
