Fortified with a cup of “Dark Blend” coffee from a Holiday gas station and a sausage biscuit from the nearby Hardees I made a trip to all six of our local thrift stores this morning.
The first three stops were Dakota Boys Ranch, The Salvation Army, and Goodwill. I struck out at all three although I did see a nice Kodak 4600 Carousel slide projector that would have been a bargain at $5. On closer inspection though, the lens was cracked making it pretty much useless.

My next stop was St. Vincent De Paul where I purchased eight ACE paperback books from Robert Asprin’s MYTH series. This is a humorous SCI-FI/Fantasy series that consists of twelve titles.
A complete set would have been nicer, but if I start these low at $.99 they have the potential of bringing between $20 and $30. I only paid $2 for all eight however, so if they come up short of that, I should still make a little bit of money from them.
My fourth stop at the Home Place Thrift store resulted in me walking out of the store empty-handed.

The last stop of the day was the ARC Thrift store where I bought all four books in Lauraine Snelling’s “Dakotah Treasures” series for $.50 each. Lauraine Snelling is very popular in the religious/inspirational fiction genre and, while this is one of her less popular series, I’ll start it at $.99 and the auction should end somewhere between $10 and $15, perhaps a little bit higher.
With fees there won’t be a huge profit with these, but it should pay for the coffee, the sausage biscuit, and the gas and I got to get out and enjoy a nice sunny -4 degree morning.

Sounds Like a pretty good day to me. Its not always about finding a gem. I find looking for items for resale very relaxing.
