Goodbye Domino Magazine - Hello Cash

Posted on 13 March 2009 by Gary H

Domino Magazine

Domino magazine is an excellent example of a magazine you have a good chance of finding at garage sales or in thrift stores that can be extremely profitable when sold on eBay.

Domino magazine, published by Conde Nast, first appeared in April 2005 with a Spring/Summer Premiere issue. The magazine’s tag line, “A Guide To Living With Style” described the overall content of the magazine - interior design.

In January of this year, Conde Nast announced that the March 2009 issue would be the last issue. During the four years between 2005 and 2009 a total of 28 issues were published.

Over the four years it was published there were a total of 28 issues.

Individual issues from 2005, 2006, and 2007 regularly bring between $40 and $100 each on eBay. Lot of eight or more issues will regularly bring between $125 and $500 depending on condition and what issues are included.

Even the earliest issues of Domino magazine are new enough that they will show up at garage sales and in thrift stores. When you find them, you will likely be able to buy issues for $1 or less meaning there can be a lot of profit even in individual issues. In fact, even if you find a good sized run of these, it would likely be more profitable to list them individually rather than as in lots.

Another nice thing about them is that you are likely to have no, or next to no, competition buying them. Very few people know what they are actually worth.

Thanks for the unique tip. I usually don’t even bother looking at magazines at thrift stores but I will keep an eye out now.
