eBay Sub-Niches For Garage Sales And Flea Markets

Posted on 10 March 2006 by Gary H

One of the keys to successfully buying eBay inventory at garage sales and flea markets is having a knowledge database of many different profitable eBay sub-niches. Your chances of finding something that you can profit from expand as your awareness of these eBay sub-niches expands.

Put another way, if you walk into a garage sale looking for Weller pottery, the chances you’ll find something you can make money from aren’t very high. But if, in addition to Weller pottery, you were also looking for 20, 30, or 40 other items, your chances of making a profitable purchase would increase dramatically.

In about a month the garage sale and flea market season will be starting in this part of the country as it will in many parts of the country. Over the course of the next three to four weeks I’m going to be writing about several profitable eBay sub-niches that contain items you can reasonably expect to find at garage sales and flea markets.

Some of the articles will contain lists of specific items within the eBay sub-niche that you can look for. The information about some of the other eBay sub-niches will be more generic and will require that you spend a little time looking at eBay’s closed auctions to determine what items within the niche are profitable and what ones aren’t.

Each article will also include ideas, tips, and some pricing information to help you make informed buying decisions when you come across these items. And, if things go well, I’m hoping to convert each article into Adobe PDF format that you can download and carry with you when you spend a morning or day at the flea market or garage saling.

I currently have a list of more than 30 of these profitable eBay sub-niches to write about and I’m hoping to have them all in your hands by the time the garage sale and flea market season gets into full swing.

As these profitable eBay sub-niche articles appear they will all be stored under the “eBay Sub-Niche” category in the right side bar.

you are so great to do something like this. I am just learning about what to look for at garage sales and it SURE helps to have an idea. The things I think would do good usually don’t and it’s hard to know where to begin with so many different things out there! You site BY FAR is the BEST I have ever come across. You are not greedy with your knowledge and are willing to share what you know w/newbies and oldies alike. There is enough ebay pie for everyone and your site helps me get my piece!

Wow! Tahnks, Gary. This will be such a great help. We just love going to garage sales and flea markets and I usually end up bringing things home that just aren’t good for eBay.

I need more knowledge, and you are one very generaous person with yours. You are truly appreciated and valued.

    Thank you so much.

    Shanti,

    Ron

Hi Gary, Stephen here again. Is this going to be new information or stuff you had on Cold items?? I have all the previous Cold Items stuff which has been a great help!!

To all the new folks just getting started with Gary’s info, you’re in for an amazing ride. I gladly paid $50 a month for his insights (it’s made me over to $7500 on eBay last year) on a subscription website…now we’re getting it for FREE??

Gary, you are an amazing and generous man who is storing stars for your crown in heaven!!

    Thanks in advance from everyone!!

    PS…How’s your health???

    Steve,

Most of it will be new information although there will be a couple things that were in Cold Items (I intend to write about Fire King Mugs for example).

Overall, the health problems are pretty much taken care of. Not a lot of fun at times along the way, but they are pretty much gone and hopefully will stay that way.

    Thanks for asking,

    Gary
