carnival of ebay sellers

This week’s Carnival had the topic “Allowing international bidders - yes or no?” and we had 5 submissions which you will find below. Not all were on-topic, but all were excellent blog articles and all are appreciated.

Remember that this is the second week for The Auction Rebel to host the Carnival of eBay Sellers. We’ll be doing it for the entire month of January.

Tom at PGA-Auctions is still looking for a February host so if you are interested, let him know! The Carnival is an excellent way to increase the readership of your Blog … (I can attest to that) and through your blog you should also be increasing you eBay sales. If you are wondering how, have a look at my article on “Building an eBay Blog

So here we go with this week’s 4 submissions:

  1. Vahid Chaychi presents Make Money On Ebay From Selling Coupons posted at Work at Home Entrepreneurs.
  2. larryb presents Don’t Buy Wholesale List On Ebay posted at My Supplier Space, saying, “Don’t be fooled by wholesale lists for sale on Ebay. Many of them are scams and you won’t make any money from these lists.”
  3. Tom Murphy presents Allowing international bidders - yes or no? posted at PGA Auctions.
  4. Gary Hendrickson presents Allowing International Bidders - Should You Or Shouldn?t You posted at The Auction Rebel.

As usual we did some surfing and found the following interesting links for your review:

It’s more than just a virtual yard sale. This is an interesting eBay article written by Surfer Sam at SurferSam.com. Not submitted to the Carnival, but certainly on topic, is this article entitled Going International on eBay which is posted at The eCommerce-Guide. They make the point that “If your eBay ads read “Ship to U.S. Only,” you’re missing out on a lot of sales.”

For our ephemera friends we found an interview with Jack Phillips who has been collecting play money for more than 20 years. He was the publisher of the American Play Money Society (APMS) newsletter, “Fun Money“. He recently took time to explain this very interesting area of ephemera at Marty Weil’s ephemera blog.

Stacy’s eBay and Bookselling Blog has a book review on a book entitled “The 100 Best Things I’ve Sold on eBay”. It dates back to 2005 but is still worth a read.

In the mode of Stephen Covey… Zippy has an eBay Review entitled “10 Habits of Highly Effective eBay Forum Users”. If you are not a reader of the eBay Forums and Discussion groups… you should be.

Skip McGrath did a review of “Free eBay tools and Helpful Links for eBay Sellers” at his newsletter this week. If you are not a subscriber of Skip’s, I suggest you become one. He often has some very helpful tips for sellers.

Calder has an interesting article entitled “Working from home lacks credibility” posted at The loneliness of the home trader website. He says “The biggest problem I have found to working from home is that people don't believe you are actually working. They all want to know when you are going to get a real job.” I found it to be a good read!

The big problem for would be eBay entrepreneur” is an article posted at UKAUCTIONLINE and talks about getting a reasonable profit in return for the time, effort and money that you put into your business.

eBay Feedback: Fatally Flawed? This interesting article by Alice LaPlante is part of the research she is doing for a book on how to start a small business on eBay. If you have any thoughts on eBay’s Feedback system, you should read her assessment.

OK, THAT’S IT FOR THIS WEEK BUT - REMEMBER
