Several weeks ago, in a post titled “Profiting From Mass Market Religious Fiction“, I talked about the popularity on eBay of many of the authors in this field. One of the more popular authors in this genre is Lauraine Snelling who has written six series and several single novels that can be found at garage sales, thrift shops, and book sales and which can sell well on eBay.
Nearly all the the book I see by Mrs. Snelling are in very good to fine condition with unbroken spines. So, if you buy these it is probably a good idea to pass on any that appear a little rough.
Here’s a list of the titles in each series and what they usually sell for.
Secret Refuge series (3 books)
- Daughter of Twin Oaks
- Sisters of the Confederacy
- The Long Way Home
The Secret Refuge series normally brings between $10 and $20 for the three volume set on eBay.
Return To Red River series (3 books)
- A Dream To Follow
- Believing The Dream
- More Than A Dream
The Return To Red River series normally brings between $10 and $20 for the three volume set on eBay.
Red River Of The North series (5 books)
- An Untamed Land
- A New Day Rising
- A Land To Call Home
- The Reaper’s Song
- Tender Mercies
- Blessing In Disguise
By far her most popular series, Red River Of The North regularly brings between $40 and $60 for the complete set on eBay.
Dakotah Treasures series (3 books)
- Ruby
- Pearl
- Opal
- Amethyst
The Dakotah Treasures series, probably partly because it’s more recent, usually sells for between $10 and $15 for the complete set on eBay.
Daughters Of Blessing series (This is the current series with only 1 book to date)
- A Promise for Ellie
She has also written eight single adult novels which are:
- The Brushstroke Legacy
- Saturday Morning
- Washington (a novella)
- Once Upon A Christmas (a novella)
- Hawaiian Sunrise (out of print and getting hard to find)
- The Gift (out of print and getting hard to find)
- The Healing Quilt
- The Way of Women
Some of these show up as singles on eBay but don’t bring much. An occasional lot of all, or nearly all, will bring in the $15 to $25 range.
You might also watch for two youth fiction series she wrote as well. These are:
The Golden Filly series (10 books)
- The Race
- Eagle’s Wings
- Go for the Glory
- Kentucky Dreamer
- Call for Courage
- Shadow Over San Mateo
- Out of the Mist
- Second Wind
- Close Call
- The Winner’s Circle
Complete sets of all ten volumes are seldom offered on ebay but when one shows up it usually will bring between $50 and $75. Occasionally more. Even a small lot of five or six of the volumes in this series will usually bring between $20 and $30.
The High Hurdles series (10 books)
- Olympic Dreams
- Close Quarters
- DJ’s Challenge
- Moving Up
- Setting the Pace
- Letting Go
- Out of the Blue
- Raising the Bar
- Storm Clouds
- Class Act
Not quite as popular as the Golden Filly series, a complete set of these will usually bring somewhere between $25 and $50 on eBay when they appear.

Hi Stephen,
Yup - she is another good example. Particularly her “Love Comes Softly” series.
