It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for ‘Weekly Winners.’
This is your chance to do share with other readers some of the items you sold on eBay last week and do a little bragging in the process. By contributing you will also be helping others broaden the scope of what they can be looking for when they are out on the hunt.
These don’t have to be three or four-figure, mega-buck, items. Did you sell something for $20 or $30 that you paid one or two dollars for? These are the week-to-week, bread and butter items, everyone needs. I encourage you to share them with other readers.
The guidelines remain the same as before.
- Use the comment section of each week’s Weekly Winners post to tell everyone about your winners.
- Please limit yourself to four items a week.
- I encourage you to include a link to the completed auction (if you don’t know how to do this, see below).
- Share some information about the item with everyone - what it is, where you got it, what you paid for it, what it sold for, etc. Remember, links to closed auctions disappear after a few months, so the more you share regarding price, condition, item description, etc., the more useful your information will be to others once eBay deletes the item from their database.
To insert a hyperlink to your eBay auction simply insert the following code (with your auction URL and item name) where ever you want it in the comment box.
<a href=”CUT AND PASTE THE URL TO YOUR AUCTION HERE”>INSERT DESCRIPTION OF YOUR ITEM (i.e. 53 Dr. Suess Books)</a>

Hello All,
I’d like to share my personal top 4 winners
1. 1936-1943 FIESTA Green TRIPOD Candle Holder Set - Paid: $36….SOLD: $307.79
I purchased these items at a local auction simply because they were in such great condition and they had the early Fiesta mark. (The Homer Laughlin Co. is still producing them today) I was hoping they might bring $125-$150, but was surprised when they hit $300+
1. VITA-MIX Maxi 4000 Commercial Blender Mixer w/ Extras NRMT - Paid: $30….SOLD: $190.49
I found this in a very hard to open kitchen cabinet (my typical snooping) at an estate sale, the lady didn’t think it was worth anything and accepted my $10 offer, but her husband walked in and said he wanted $50 because it was his dad’s and they had only used it once before he died!! I upped my offer to $30 and he accepted it.
I thought about selling all the component pieces in individual auctions, but in the end I sold it as I found it. I was hoping it would bring $200+
3. Vintage LADY HEAD VASE C8500 Large 7 1/2″ Headvase VG+ - Paid: $1.00….SOLD: $111.50
I purchased this at the same local auction as the Fiesta candleholders but I was the only bidder. I saw the C8500 on the bottom along with what looked like sticker residue so I right away thought it might be a Napcoware piece from the 1940s-1960s.
4. ALADDIN Nu-Type Model B Glass Oil Lamp WASHINGTON DRAPE - Paid: $17.00….SOLD: $85.00
Another purchase from that good old country auction! I added the glass chimney, and I’m betting it would have sold for more if the oil cap wasn’t rusted on the lamp…oh well $85 bucks isn’t a bad ROI on a $17 investment!!
If anybody has any questions feel free to ask!!
Good Luck Everybody!
