Over the last few weeks my weekly updates to The $10,000 Garage Sale eBay Challenge have been missing from the blog. Earlier today I updated everything and here is how The Challenge looks as it nears it’s end.
The items that were purchased at garage sales during the last week of September are currently listed on eBay and will be ending later this evening. Some of these that don’t sell may be re-listed and I still have one or two dozen garages sale items that didn’t get listed sitting in the office that will eventually be listed. However, there is not anything in the pile that would significantly affect the results of the Challenge.
As you can see from the updated information below, I’m going to fall quite a bit short of my goal of $10,000 in net profit for the summer. I’[ll end up with a little more than $8,000 in profits once tonight’s auctions end and all associated fees have been paid.
Here is how things look with one week of auctions still to end.

Gary,
GLad to see you’re back in the saddle again!
BTW — that “Winchester Repeater 10 Guage 2 Piece Shot Shell Box” is sweet and should be a nice winner. How much did that box cost you?
Just an aside for the readers of the Auction Rebel, Winchester is the name to look for over all other gun makers names, as there are more collectors of Winchester items than most others combined!
Also, most ANY early 2 Piece shotgun shell box will be worth picking when they are found…some can bring $$$$!

Stephen,
I picked the shell box up at a mall in Bismarck. A young man was stocking his booth while I was there and I got it just as he put it in a case.
I’m guessing he may have been kind of new at all this, because there was a sign saying ‘new dealer’ in the booth and he had five different shell boxes which looked as though they had been priced based on how intricate and colorful the graphics were.
This was the only 2 piece box he had and, since it didn’t have a lot of ducks flying around, bird dogs, hunters, etc. on it, it was the cheapest of the lot. I paid $20 for it. The others were more common boxes and priced to high to do anything with.
Folks, pay attention to what Stephen said about Winchester and 2 piece shotgun shell boxes.
Gary
