In Illy Coffee Espresso & Cappuccino Cups & Saucers I mentioned that I’d just recently learned about Illy cups and saucers through Lynn Dralle’s Lynn’s eBay Ezine.
I’m always on the lookout for new eBay newsletters. Sometimes they are of no value, but many contain information about items that do well on eBay I’m not aware of and ideas I can implement that will make my eBay business more profitable or streamlined.
Over the years I’ve probably subscribed to well over a hundred different eBay newsletters. Some are no longer published. Some I’ve unsubscribed to because they were mostly vehicles to deliver affiliate links.
Most of the one’s I still subscribe to are published by people who actually sell on eBay and write about specific items they have had success with or about the results of various ideas/techniques they have tried in their business.
Here’s a list of six that represent some of the best around. While they may not contain useful information in every issue, they do provide it regularly enough that I stay subscribed. The title of each is linked to a page you can subscribe from if you wish to.
Lynn Dralle’s Lynn’s eBay Ezine - Lynn’s newsletters usually contain a good deal of advertising for one or two eBay training programs she has written, but she also talks about her latest finds and how they are doing on eBay. Her finds are easy to follow because she includes pictures and links to the actual auctions. Her newsletter archive allows you to read back issues, although the auction links won’t work in older issues.
Terry Gibbs’ Collector Strategies Newsletter - The focus of Terry’s newsletter isn’t so much ‘what to sell’, but rather, ‘how to sell’ it. Terry has been selling toy trains and other toys on eBay for many years and his thoughts are often useful and to the point.
Julia Wilkinson’s Yard Saler’s Newsletter - Each issue of Julia’s newsletter is usually a combination of selling tips and commentary and information about a few things she and/or her readers have found and sold successfully. You can read back issues in Julia’s newsletter archives.
Cliff Aliperti’s Movie Profiles & Premium Newsletter - This newsletter is different from the others on this list and, at first glance, your reaction may be that it holds no interest for you. If so, you’d be wrong. Tightly niched Newsletters such as Movie Profiles & Premium News can be a goldmine of information about what collectors are looking for on eBay. Cliff’s newsletter is my favorite example of such newsletters. His newsletter archive will keep you reading for a long time.
Julia Anne Schultz’s Essential eBay Auction Tips Newsletter - Julia Anne’s newsletter is different from the others in this list because there isn’t a set publishing schedule. Months can go by between issues. You get the next newsletter when she thinks she has something important to say and when she gets around to saying it. I stay subscribed because when she does publish an issue, it’s nearly always worth reading.
Craig Stark’s The BookThinker Newsletter - Without a doubt, the best free newsletter available about selling books on-line. If books are a part of you eBay business model, Craig’s newsletter is a must read. The newsletter archive is a treasure trove of book selling information. Hint: Craig’s paid subscription newsletters are even better.
Are there eBay newsletters you’ve found particularly useful? If so, I encourage you to share them with other readers in the comment section below.

Thanks so much for the mention, Gary, it’s most appreciated. Great all around post as well, I hadn’t been familiar with Terry Gibbs until your post the other night and thanks to the handy link included here I’m now a Collector Strategies Newsletter subscriber!

Hello, I’m a fairly recent reader of your blog and I think it is very informative. I am already registered with TheQueenofAuctions’ newsletter and will check out the others. Thanks for pulling all of this great info together and making it available to others.

Gary,
I think I found your blog through Terry Gibbs’ newsletter. Terry does an excellent job, as do you.
I think you overlooked the AuctionBytes newsletters. Although they don’t often discuss sleepers, there is always much good eBay related information.
