Intentionally or not, eBay is providing a window into how your feedback percentage may change once their new Feedback 2.0 is rolled out in the US.
Feedback 2.0 has recently been launched in Australia. You can see how what changes may be in store for your feedback percentage by using eBay Australia. Here’s how to check.
Go to eBay Australia. Using the “Advanced Search” link in the upper right hand corner, do a search for “Items By Seller” inputing your eBay ID. Click your feedback rating at the top of the resulting page, and you will be able to see what your feedback percentage would be today under the new Feedback 2.0.
Under the system currently used in the US, my percentage is 99.9%. Under Feedback 2.0 it drops to 99.7%. Not a huge difference, but there are reports of some seller’s percentages dropping by as much as 2-3%.
As might be expected, as this becomes wider known, most of what you hear about this is going to be negative. However, it’s important to realize that for every seller who sees a decrease in their feedback percentage there will likely be another seller who sees an increase in theirs.
Kudos to Randy Smythe of My Blog Utopia for the heads up on this.

lol, mine goes down from 99.5 to 97 something. not too happy about that. most are from neutrals. but in end sure it wont make much diff. if does, here comes another user id, lol. but hate to go away from my 12000+ one. i know i sell stuff faster that way, but that is gut feeling, not proven. wonder if started over if my big dollar items would not turn as fast.
best way to not get neg’s or neutral - dont sell during dec/jan - boy, people are piss’y during those months. not sure if from holiday pressure or if they don’t like the cold weather.
not sure why some get so huffy about feedback. amazon gets the best surveys for online store and they only get 85%. so 97% is GREAT!
as for not being a powerseller, who cares? never say a benefit after 6 years. a powerseller forum - lol - for newbies. no thanks. i never need to email or call ebay either, so no loss there. i got the 5% discount last month, looked it up and it was no 5%, more like 2% overall - another joke. and about $14. wow, almost a meal at a fast food joint - almost.

Thanks Gary for the heads up.
By the way, awhile back I had asked if you might mind sharing some of your expertise on international shipping. Hadn’t seen anything on it. I think it would be helpful for us that are only shipping domestic to grow our sales.
Thanks
Gary

My total feedback went from 34,000 to 38,000. However, my percentage went from 99.3 to 98.4.
Once the initial shock of how low the percentage dropped, I could see how this is a positive thing for the community. I have already taken several steps to improve my customer service to get that percentage up. Buyers are the backbone of eBay, so the happier the buyers, the happier your profits will be!
