Yesterday was supposed to be the final day that The Auction Rebel hosted The Carnival Of eBay Sellers. I never received the content for the issue. Tom had contacted me last week and said submissions weren’t coming in as he’d expected, so I’m guessing he may have decided to terminate the project.
Whatever the reason, January is over and it’s time to award the gifts that I talked about at the first of the month.
Only two bloggers submitted articles that were related to the specific topic of the week, so Tom Murphy and Thatedeguy will each receive a free copy of “Profiting From Garage Sales” when it is released in two to three weeks.
No Carnival readers submitted qualifying comments to any of The Carnival Of eBay Sellers articles during the month so the two free copies of the ebook reserved for readers are unclaimed.

This week’s Carnival had the topic “Allowing international bidders - yes or no?” and we had 5 submissions which you will find below. Not all were on-topic, but all were excellent blog articles and all are appreciated.
Remember that this is the second week for The Auction Rebel to host the Carnival of eBay Sellers. We’ll be doing it for the entire month of January.
Tom at PGA-Auctions is still looking for a February host so if you are interested, let him know! The Carnival is an excellent way to increase the readership of your Blog … (I can attest to that) and through your blog you should also be increasing you eBay sales. If you are wondering how, have a look at my article on “Building an eBay Blog“
So here we go with this week’s 4 submissions:
- Vahid Chaychi presents Make Money On Ebay From Selling Coupons posted at Work at Home Entrepreneurs.
- larryb presents Don’t Buy Wholesale List On Ebay posted at My Supplier Space, saying, “Don’t be fooled by wholesale lists for sale on Ebay. Many of them are scams and you won’t make any money from these lists.”
- Tom Murphy presents Allowing international bidders - yes or no? posted at PGA Auctions.
- Gary Hendrickson presents Allowing International Bidders - Should You Or Shouldn?t You posted at The Auction Rebel.

Before eBay existed I sold antique and collectible toys through ads placed in specialized toy collector publications. These publications had world-wide distribution and several of my customers were from countries outside the United States. I never gave any thought to excluding buyers from other countries. If I priced a toy at $775 and someone from Japan, Australia, England, or some other country was willing to part with $775 for the toy I was happy to sell it to them. I was in business to make money.
It wasn’t until I’d been selling on eBay for a while that I started reading what other sellers were doing and realized some sellers were excluding bidders from outside the US from bidding in their auctions. While some of their reasons for not accepting bids from international buyers had some validity, most didn’t make much sense to me, and, in most cases, they still don’t today.
The rational they used for not accepting bids from international buyers back then was pretty much the same as you hear today.
