Selling Books By The Lot On eBay - The Magic Tree House Series

Magic Tree House Books

The Magic Tree House series, written by Mary Pope Osborne and published by Random House, chronicles the adventures of Jack & Annie as they travel to distance places or go back in time.

The original series is made up of 37 books for young children. An additional 12 books that build off the original series is called the Merlin Mission series.

The author, along with her husband and sister, also write a companion non-fiction series called The Magic Tree House Research Guides consisting of 18 books. Each Guide is related to one of the books in the original series.

They can often be found at garage sales, book sales, and thrift stores for $.50 each or less.

Selling Books By The Lot On eBay

Alice In Bibleland is a series of 28 hardcover children’s books written by Alice Joyce Davidson and illustrated by Victoria Marshall. Published by the C. R. Gibson Co., they are distributed by Grolier Enterprises.

Each story presented through the eyes of Alice, a little girl who likes to read her Bible storybook and, while she does so, finds herself able to walk through a screen and witness the Bible stories firsthand. The stories are told in rhyme and end with a summary of what Alice has learned.

Each book measure 6.25″ by 8.25″ and has 32 pages.

Prices for the complete 28 volume set vary considerably. When listed in the auction format full sets normally bring between $50 and $90. Some sellers are able to get $100 to $125 for complete sets by placing them in their eBay stores and waiting for the right buyer to come along.

Books, Books Everywhere Last Week

Going to garage sales last week was a lot like going to a FOL or AAUW book sale. It seemed like everywhere I looked there were books.

Thursday there were 16 garage sales in Grand Forks and the only thing I bought were books. Friday wasn’t much different. There were 29 fresh garage sale and I spent $59.50 for books and only $8.00 for anything else. The 26 fresh sales on Saturday did produce quite a few non-book items, but there were still books to be looked at and purchased.

The second sale I stopped at on Friday turned into a book buyer’s bonanza. The ad said nothing about books but when I stopped to look at a box of teacher’s aids, the lady running the sale asked if I was interested in books. When I told her ‘yes”, she told me the back patio was filled with books.

Selling William W. Johnstone Books On eBay

William W. Johnstone is the author of well over 150 mass market paperback book for men. As is often the case with mass market paperbacks, most of Mr. Johnstone’s individual titles don’t have stellar sales records on eBay. However, he does have a growing number of faithful readers and there’s a way you can take advantage of this.

The majority of William W. Johnstone’s titles are part of one of seven or eight different series he has written. These series range in size from three or four books up to more than thirty books. It’s these series that can provide you with nice profits when sold on eBay.

The secret to profitably selling William Johnstone books on eBay is to buy and sell them in lots within each series. For the purpose of this article, we will look at his six most popular series and one fiction genre his works is also popular in.

The First Mountain Man series consists of 14 different titles. A lot including all fourteen titles will usually bring somewhere between $50 and $100 on eBay. Smaller lots made up of between 6 to 10 titles usually also sell, but only in the $15 to $20 range.
